Intellectual property is put into two categories:
Industrial property, which includes inventions (patents), trademarks,
industrial designs, and geographic indications of source but the copy right law involves novels,
books etc. Also it is a legal concept; it is enforced by most governments. It
gives the creator of the original piece of work exclusive rights. It is
normally only for a limited of time. The copy right law also enables protection
over work. Having rights over your work means that people cannot copy your
piece and use it. The length of copyright protection may vary between countries,
but it usually lasts for the life of the author plus 50 to 100 years in jail.
For example if i use a different persons bands logo on my website it would be against
the law.
Excellent work. this covers the legal issues fully. P6 achieved.
